The Alfred Nobel colt, from Matilda Grace and prepared by Queensland’s Kenmore Lodge, recorded 10.35sec. Fastest time was 10sec. recorded by the Not A Single Doubt-Take Charge colt, also prepared by Kenmore Lodge.
The Alfred Nobel colt was bred by Dawson Stud, Myalup, and sold for $60,000 at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in February.
He was destined to run fast.
Alfred Nobel was Ireland’s best 2Y0 in 2009 when he won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes.
The un-raced Matila Grace is by Stravinsky, the dual Group 1 winner and 1999 champion European sprinter, and is a half-sister to Group 2 New Zealand Challenge Stakes winner La Italia. The Alfred Nobel colt is her first foal.
