For the second successive year the family of Lynward Park Stud’s Alfred Nobel has provided the winner of the historic Group 1 English Oaks (12 furlongs) first run in 1779 and won by the 12th Earl of Derby’s Bridget.

Was is from Alluring Park, a half-sister to dual European champion colt and five-time Group 1 winner New Approach, the sire of Talent.
New Approach and Alluring Park are half brother and sister to Dazzling Park, Alfred Nobel’s grand dam.
Dazzling Park was the champion European 3Y0 filly in 1999. Her dam Park Express was champion 2Y0 and 3Y0 filly in Ireland in 1985-86 and was also top filly on the 1986 English 3Y0 Free Handicap.
This maternal line has long been regarded as the equal of any in Europpe and amongst the most successful in world breeding.
As a result Alfred Nobel, winner of the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes in Ireland, shuttles between Lynward Park and Coolmore Stud in County Tipperary, the world’s most successful thoroughbred nursery.
Alfred Nobel will stand the coming WA season at an unchanged $6,500, plus gst. New Approach stands at Darley Victoria for $55,000.
